What is Part-145?

What does a Part-145 company do?

An approved Part-145 company can work with:

  • Inspection and maintenance of aircraft and helicopters
  • Repair and replacement of components (engines, avionics, structural parts)
  • Troubleshooting and testing of technical systems
  • Issuing certificates confirming that the work has been carried out correctly and safely

Why is this important for your apprenticeship?

As a student at a Part-147 school, you must gain practical experience from a Part-145 approved company. This ensures that you:

  • Work under realistic and professional conditions
  • Follow the same procedures and quality requirements that apply in the real aviation industry
  • Learn to understand and work with the same documentation and systems used in approved organizations

Examples of Part-145 companies:

  • Maintenance departments in airlines
  • Specialised MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) companies
  • The technical centers of aircraft manufacturers

When you work as an apprentice at a Part-145 company, you become part of a professional environment where your technical knowledge is put into practice, always with flight safety in focus.
